Agnès Varda is a French-Greek photographer, film director and a Paris-based key figure in modern film history from Ixelles, Belgium (*1928). Varda studied Art History and Photography. Her first feature-length film, La Pointe Courte (1954) was an early anticipation of French New Wave. Varda is a professor at the European Graduate School.
