VALIE EXPORT programs touring in Spain

Austrian feminist artist and video pioneer VALIE EXPORT is dedicated several personal shows in Spain throughout the upcoming months: starting point is Gijon Film Festival showing a larger retrospective, introduced and accompanied by Brigitta Burger-Utzer from sixpackfilm. Upcoming stations are Tabakalera in San Sebastian and Filmoteca de Cantabria in Santander in december and january.

THOSE SHOCKING SHAKING DAYS wins at DocLisboa

Wonderful news from Portugal: Selma Doborac´s already multiple awarded film Those Shocking Shaking Days wins also at this year´s DocLisboa in Lisbon one of the festival´s major awards, the TVCine Channels Award for Best First Feature-Length Film. Congratulations !

LATE BLOSSOM BLUES with ongoing success on festival-tour

The portrait of today 85 year old Blues guitarist and singer Leo “Bud” Welch, whose carreer startet when he became 81, sensitively and impressively put in scene by Wolfgang Pfoser-Almer and Stefan Wolner, can be seen these days at the Hofer Filmdays in Germany, at Florida’s Naples Film Festival and in a couple of weeks at the Mekka of Music-Documentaries, the Doc´n Roll-Festival in London. Watch out for it !

sixpackfilm - a tribute @ Close-up/London and The Cube/Bristol

We are very happy about the invitation of two thematic programs as a tribute to sixpackfilm at London’s Close-up-Cinema on oct 27th and at The Cube Cinema in Bristol on oct 28th & 29th. Viennale 2017

We are very happy that sixpackfilm will be represented again at the upcoming Viennale 2017 (19.10. – 2.11.2017) with a number of new films. Johann Lurf’s epic found-footage-film will premiere as well as new works by Siegfried Fruhauf, Friedl vom Gröller, Elke Groen or O.N.L.S.D. beside new sixpack-artists like Sasha Reichstein and Bernhard Hetzenauer. HOW WE LIVE by Gustav Deutsch @ Montréal Festival du Nouveau Cinéma

We are extremely happy to announce a world premiere and two further selections for the upcoming Festival du Nouveau Cinéma Montréal (oct 4-15 2017) ! Focus on Austria at Marienbad Film Festival

Located in the famous czech Spa City Marienbad, the first edition of the Marienbad Fim Festival will focus on recent austrian experimental film. In two programs within the Cinema Excelsior section one can see selected movies by Peter Tscherkassky, Rainer Kohlberger, Billy Roisz und Dieter Kovacic, Siegfried Fruhauf and many more. At the closing ceremony of the 52. Karlovy Vary International Film Festival the wonderful documentary ATELIER DE CONVERSATION, directed by Bernhard Braunstein (AT, FR, LI 2017) was awarded with the Documentary Special Jury Price. Four films in competitions and a market-program: We are more than happy to announce this fantastic presence of sixpackfilm at the reknowed Oberhausen Short Film Festival (may 11.-16.). Katrina Daschner´s Horse Boobs and Josef Dabernig´s Stabat Mater have been selected for the International Competition, Fishing is not done on Tuesdays by Marcel Odenbach & Lukas Marxt will play in the German Competition and finally Lukas has another work as part of the regional NRW-section: Circular Inscription
Last not least sixpackfilm has been invited again to present a selection of recent experimentals in a distributor’s screening on friday, may 12th at 8pm. Details on the Festival´s page

The supurb Millenium Doc Against Gravity Film Festival in Warsaw selected Michael Palm’s Cinema Futures, Those Shocking Shaking Days by Selma Doborac and MappaMundi , latest movie by Bady Minck, into their competitions. Fantastic news: Not only Forest of Echoes awarded short by Maria Luz Olivares Capelle has been invited to Saarbruecken. Also WANNABE the recent short by promising newcomer Jannis Lenz has been invited both into competition of Max Ophühls Festival in Saarbrücken (Medium Length Film) and into the international competition of the reknown short film festival in Clermont-Ferrand. TOUTES DIRECTIONS, youngest work by Billy Roisz and Dieter Kovacic will celebrate it´s world premiere, Georg Wasner´s multilayered found-footage essay Accelerando its internationale premiere. Michael Palm´s xaminations about the digital twist in cinema Cinema Futures can be seen as well as Jannis Lenz´ Zero-G and Friedl vom Gröller´s Ulrich Gregor & Heidi Kim at the W Hong Kong Hotel.
