Rufus (Mozart Minute 17)
As a teenager I took piano lessons from an elderly woman who had a wart on her nose. At the beginning of each lesson she served us boiling-hot tea, some bitter chocolate and a piece of Arosa candy. Whenever someone managed to learn a new piece, the moment of truth was when she said, "And now with feeling." She sat at the piano, assumed a meditative pose, took a deep breath, and played the piece, filled with ardor and profound devotion. We were then asked to do the same.
