I´ve been familiar with the Steffl department store since I was a child. The house where Mozart died stood on the same site in the 19th-century, so and for that reason there was a Mozart monument in the fifth-floor suitcase and bag department. It consisted of a larger-than-life bronze bust of Mozart, a display case with photocopies of the first few pages of the "Requiem" score and a marble plaque with the following inscription in gold letters:
"Unequalled master of the art of music, who lived here until his death, this monument was dedicated at the Pietro Calvagni building´s renovation, 1849."
