Mukul is a London-based intermedia artist and researcher whose practice spans writing, computation and installation, alongside composing for dance, film and environments. Since 2001, he has codirected Ambient Information Systems, a studio for critical, participatory works, with artist-filmmaker Manu Luksch. Two scripts cowritten with Luksch have been voiced by Tilda Swinton. Formally, his work is informed by the music of North India, OuLiPo and 1960s conceptual practice, and mathematics. Mukul is currently at the AIDesign Lab, Royal College of Art, where he researches the ethics of algorithmically-managed spaces, and is developing a foundational critique of ‘artificial intelligence’.
