Synthesis. On/Off

“Synthesis. On/Off is based on the principle of an audiotape loop. This loop contains only the word ‘off’. If the actor speaks the word ‘on’ and switches on the magnetophone, the device answers with the word ‘off’. The actor then switches off the device, says ‘on’ and it switches on (…) etc. This qua endless loop virtually endless script is ended whenever a mistake occurs or if one of the partners (one of the sequential machines so-to-speak) gives up.”
