Stefan Németh is certainly one of the busiest musicians in the Austrian experimental film and video scene. Among others, he has worked with Lotte Schreiber, Michaela Schwentner, Norbert Pfaffenbichler and Dariusz Kowalski. As part of the electro-acoustic trio Radian, he was influential in the field of experimental electronic music far beyond the country's borders. A number of Radian pieces have also repeatedly served as the basis for abstract music videos. Conversely, his commissioned compositions are always characterized by an accurate examination of the existing visual material. Németh's sounds are fragile acoustic structures with fine ramifications, which, without ever playing themselves into the foreground, essentially determine the rhythm and atmosphere of the videos and films as a whole. This arogram shows a selection of these collaborations. (Gerald Weber)
