Lis Rhodes
Lis Rhodes is one of the central artists in British experimental film since the early 1970s and yet has been presented in this country with only a few works. She was Cinema Curator at the London Filmmakers' Co-op, and in 1979 also co-founded Circles, the first distributor of films and videos by women, later called Cinenova. This commitment to women's representation in the art world is reflected in her institutional work, her essays and some of her films. She lives and works in London and until recently taught at the Slade School of Fine Art.
